“Recede” represents the glaciers retreating but sparing a small mass of land known as the Driftless Area, which is comprised of southwestern Wisconsin, southeastern Minnesota, northeastern Iowa and northwestern of Illinois. A very special place with a unique terrain was the result of not being filled in with glacial drift. The recycled glass renders the icy feel of glaciers. The rock I used is from the local bluffs in La Crosse, WI.
